In heavy-duty applications prone to corrosion, the Heavy Duty Corrosive (HDC) air curtain from Powered Aire is the ideal solution. This air curtain boasts powerful, 3 horsepower motors to create a highly effective barrier that fully-separates environments. HDC air curtains can be used in petrochemical, heat treating, mineral, chemical and metallurgical processing, as well as in waste/recycling plants, automotive and paper production. HDC air curtains are also ideal for food processing and poultry plants. The HDC is comprised of 316-grade steel casing, along with 316-grade steel components and a NEMA4X control panel.
Light Duty Corrosive Air Curtains are purpose-built to operate in areas prone to higher levels of corrosion including washdown rooms, poultry farms, marinas, meat processing and aquatic facilities. Due to the caustic emissions of these facilities, regular steel tends to corrode faster, leading to decreased performance and air curtain failure. Powered Aire’s LDC air curtain is made of higher-grade 316 stainless steel, which is naturally more resistant to corrosion. Along with enhanced stainless steel housing, the air curtain’s internal components and controls are also comprised of higher-grade components, including a NEMA 4X control panel constructed of 316 stainless steel.

Refineries, grain processing, chemical production and other facilities managing dangerous materials can benefit from the HDX. This model is unheated and is manufactured for Class I Division 1 Group C & D and Class II Group F & G hazardous areas. The components of the HDX are protected by explosion proof housing and a powerful 3HP motor(s) ensures maximum environmental separation.
The Light Duty Hazardous Environments Air Curtain (LDX) is designed to operate in areas where potentially dangerous, flammable and/or and combustible substances are present, such as gasoline, acetone, propane, ammonia and other gases. Locations where the LDX can be used include refineries, chemical plants and other areas that manage dangerous substances. The motors of the LDX are explosion proof and suitable for Class I, Group D and Class II, Groups F and G. The wires and junction box of the LDX are also encased in explosion proof housing. The LDX effectively separates environments while meeting the safety regulations required within these environments.
More and more, air curtains are being paired with revolving doors. This unique application provides additional levels of environmental separation and temperature control. By design, revolving doors create a barrier between the outside and inside. Air curtains can be used to provide additional layers of climate and insect control. In regions with excessive temperatures, or applications with constant traffic, an air curtain placed on a revolving door can provide supplemental heat while preventing outside air and elements from entering with each revolution of the door.
The REV air curtain is designed specifically for revolving door applications to provide additional levels of environmental separation. The REV features a customizable nozzle that can fit the diameter of most revolving doors. The nozzle attaches to an air curtain that operates in the header area above the revolving door and the entire unit remains out of sight while providing all of the benefits of an air curtain. The REV is available with several heating options and can serve as a source of supplemental heat in lobby areas. The custom design of each unit ensures that it can blend seamlessly into a building’s aesthetics while creating an effective barrier to block insects, dust, exhaust and outside air from entering.
